Sofia Nembrini is an architect of Italian and Filipino heritage, born in Tuscany and currently based in Paris.
She studied Architecture at the University of Florence and HafenCity Universität Hamburg. Her education and experiences across diverse cultural contexts have shaped a design approach grounded in attentive observation and a strong sensitivity to people, places, history, and material culture.
During her studies and early experiences, she developed research and design projects in contexts including Mumbai, Nepal, and the Algerian desert. Since a young age, she has cultivated a strong passion for craftsmanship, material detail, and the collaborative work of craftsmen and artisans.
After obtaining her Italian architectural license in 2019, she worked at Stocker Lee Architetti on projects in Switzerland and South Korea, before joining Studio Giacomo Moor in Milan as a furniture designer. She is currently part of Lina Ghotmeh – Architecture.
Alongside her studio practice, she pursues independent research and personal work, and is currently involved in the development of a new church and parish center in Veneto following a competition win in 2023, with small group of professionals.
In 2026, she was selected as a finalist for “Réenchanter la Villa Médicis” and subsequently participated in a residency at Villa Medici organized with the French Academy in Rome, Mobilier National, and Sèvres – Manufacture et Musée nationaux.
